First off, I just want to say it feels so good to be back in this space! I didn’t realize how much I missed sharing content with you all. Honestly, I got to a point where I felt like nothing I was doing was good enough. I started playing the comparison game, looking at other bloggers’ photos, number of followers, ability to bare every aspect of their lives, and that comparison shut me down. I started trying to make every photo look perfect, which for me, is not realistic and not who I am. My weekends aren’t filled with lounging by the pool in my cute bikini sipping cocktails; instead, I’m usually still in my pajamas, grading papers, or watching a favorite show. During the week, I wake up when it’s still dark, so I can’t share an outfit picture then, and by the time I get home from work, it’s straight to cooking dinner, putting on pajamas and going to bed. I just couldn’t keep up with the “lifestyle” it seems I have to portray in order to be considered an “influencer”.

However, I’ve come to realize that I do enjoy putting my time and energy towards my blog. It’s a space where I can write, openly share my thoughts, and not have to worry about how many “likes” I’m going to get. We are living in a society where it’s easy to get caught up in the comparison game. It’s important for us to remember that we are in this together, to support one another, and to lift each other up, not bring each other down. I hope that this tiny corner of the internet provides you with optimism, gratitude and joy.

Okay, so on to the outfit! Speaking of community, Linenstitch, a small linen start-up, reached out to me last year to do a collaboration. I love supporting small businesses and instantly fell in love with this linen dress.

Linen Dress (I am wearing a medium) // shoes // necklace

Linen Dress (I am wearing a medium) // shoes // necklace

The sad part is Linenstitch is now selling all their inventory for the last time. If you want this dress, you need to buy it now! The fit is timeless and flattering on all body types. The extra touch of wooden buttons down the back add a feminine touch. And, of course, there are pockets, win!

Even better? The dress was originally $150 and is now $95. Wear it to work (like I do!) or out and about for a casual weekend. You could also throw on a pair of heels to make it suitable for a more formal event. If you’ve been looking for a fun spring/summer dress and you want to feel good about your purchase, then Linenstitch is for you!

Thank you all for being here and being a part of this community. As I recently heard someone say, have a great day, and if it’s not, then go make today awesome!
